Editorial policy
How we write, verify and correct what we publish.
- Sources
- Every hadith is cited with its collection, number and grading (sahih, hasan and so on). Quranic verses give the surah and ayah. Fabricated narrations are never used; a weak narration is always labelled as weak.
- Review
- Writing on the Seerah and hadith is reviewed by a qualified scholar before it is published. The reviewer is named at the end of the article.
- Balance
- Where scholars differ, we set out the positions and their evidence briefly rather than argue - or we leave the topic alone.
- Images
- We never use pictures, portraits or AI-generated images of any prophet or companion. We use calligraphy, architecture, landscapes and maps.
- Questions and answers
- Our Q&A is not a fatwa. For a ruling on your own situation, consult a qualified scholar.
- Copyright
- Published translations and books are quoted briefly and credited; whole chapters are never republished.
- Relief photographs
- Photographs are taken with consent. We do not publish images that would humiliate anyone, or identifiable images of children without a guardian’s consent.
- Corrections
- When we get something wrong, we correct it openly and add a dated correction note at the end of the article. Tell us about a mistake through the contact page.
